Let’s say the net pay on the paycheck is 5.15 before tax deductions. The employee is married and does not have any exemptions as well as claim 0 allowences on the W4
I used the online calculator but it does not tell how the calculations were performed. I would really appreciate your help!

It’s my first year in a new job and I am currently claiming 1 on my W4. My tax return was a little smaller than I had hoped this year, so I was thinking of claiming 0 to give me a bigger "bonus" next year. How much money can I expect to disappear from my paycheck which is usually around 50 after pre-tax deductions, and about 0 after taxes now?

I will try to make my question as clearly laid out to you as possible:
I am going to be working in the summer at my dad’s restaurant
4 days a week, 7 hours a day.
I will be paid every two weeks.
I am 14…..[I CAN WORK, LEGALLY]
I will *probably* be paid the minimum wage for Pennsylvania, which is .15 an hour.
Will I get tax deductions?
IF I WILL: How much money will I get for my paycheck?
IF I WILL NOT: How much money will I get for my paycheck?
Thank you all! (:
Thank you so much Star!
I have a bank account and I will be saving almost all of my money.
The ONLY money I will be spending is that of which to buy myself a cell phone.
I think it is my responsibility to buy & pay for it.
Thank you for the tip~!

I recently got my paycheck and there were a lot of tax deductions. Being on my OPT i dont have the Social Security or Medicare tax cut. But my Federal and State Income(NJ) tax deductions were huge. Please could anybody guide me so that I may be able to plan my finances accordingly.
Thanks to "laura" who help me in this. But I am sorry to say i am not able to figure out the exact amount. So here are the deductions i got in my paycheck.
Earnings per month : $ 4928
Federal Income (deduction) : $ 739.20
NJ State Income (deduction): $ 197.12
Please tell me if these deductions are correct.
This is for the state of New Jersey.
Thanks.

Hi.
The title says it all.
Is the written amount on the paycheck before tax deduction or
after tax deduction?
For example, if the written amount on the paycheck is 00,
does the owner own the full 00 or do you have to talk to your
accountant or talk to the IRS and pay a certain amount of tax
manually?
Thanx for reading and have a nice day.

I plan to buy a home soon, but am utterly confused as to why you have to pay property tax but then get deductions on your taxes for owning a house. I realize that every state and person is different, but generally do the two even eachother out?
If I was to get taxed about 30% of my paycheck (because I have no dependents and no other write offs) and I was to buy a 0,000 house, could I expect that I would end up ahead on my taxes?
Oh, this is in California by the way.
Like I said, I’m assuming my taxes are usually 30% of my income. The home is in California. And the interest rate of the 400,000$ home is about 5.25%.
Is there an easy way to calculate all that?

I pay my health care premiums out of my own pay check. In other words I get paid then my employer subtracts my premium from my paycheck. can I deduct these premiums from my taxes?

Question for those out there who are experts on payroll deductions: Deductions taken from my paycheck for medical, dental insurance, long-time disability, life insurance, etc…do all companies deduct this money from bi-weekly paychecks on a pre-tax basis or are there employers who do it on a post-tax basis? I have a full-time job as an engineer on a fortune-500 company. Thank you

example. your paycheck is usually 500 before taxes and 400 after taxes. this time your boss pays you 1000 before taxes and 800 after taxes. are you suppose to pay him for taxes that you have no control over. wouldn’t it be completely his loss for the taxes that are sent to the government…
