Is the amount written on your paycheck before tax or after tax deduction?

April 22nd, 2010

Hi.

The title says it all.

Is the written amount on the paycheck before tax deduction or

after tax deduction?

For example, if the written amount on the paycheck is 00,

does the owner own the full 00 or do you have to talk to your

accountant or talk to the IRS and pay a certain amount of tax

manually?

Thanx for reading and have a nice day.

That is your take home pay, the part you can cash or deposit at a bank, not your gross pay, which usually is hidden at the bottom along with your deductions (social security, medicare, fica, etc.). If however, you are self-employed, then talk to your accountant.
