Do you know about the changes to tax deductions for charitable donations?

April 27th, 2010

Obama’s tax plan greatly reduces tax deductions for charitable donations. Instead Congress will be appropriating funds to the charities of their choice.

I was just reading another question on here and I think it’s funny that most people thought he was making this up. Why do people find it so hard to believe?

Liberals give less to charity than conservatives. So it makes sense a liberal administration wants to decrease tax deductions for donations. It also gives them the power to determine what charities should be supported. Obviously they will select charities backed by their campaign donors.

    That’s not surprising.

And he is taking $ from the Special Olympics.
I can’t think of anything more despicable.

He’s raising the charitable tax for people making over X-amount of dollars to their marginal tax rate. So it would jump from what it is now (20 or 25%) to 36%…39% next year.

It’s a stupid idea and another way to empower their party — they take the extra tax-revenue and distribute those funds to groups of their liking…I wonder if ACORN or PETA falls into those categories?
