What happens if I cannot back taxes makes the payments on a payment plan for the IRS?
I have a Payment plan with the government on some back taxes that I have been guilty. I did not pay the money for the last two months installments. So what happens now? Seizure, Jail time, what? The amount in question here is owed a total of $ 2,600 for all of the money ... not a fortune. I am going through a divorce and did not have the money because I had to pay (deposit utilities, telephone, water and so on) and security deposit and first Months' rent on an apartment. Should make money from missed payments in the week.
You should negotiate with the IRS on the new plan or take other precautions before the IRS contacts you about the missing payments. I hope this helps. Gary
