If someone has a maritime job (in California or sent out of home state), the state/federal taxes are NOT witheld and they must pay all taxes the following year. Is there an IRS form that one can use as a guideline to set aside an approximate tax figure to cover the taxes due for the next year?
illinois property taxes payment 89 years old blind woman is not known, 38 in back taxes are sold under $. Is that fair?
Leave it for the State of Illinois. A 89 years old blind widow was never informed that she had $ 38.00 in the back, thanks to taxes. Her house was at an auction for the payment of Tax sale. A real estate company (LLC) now owns it, and soon they will sell. The house is on a 38 acre farm worth $ 100,000. And she had Tax delinquency informed of, they would have taken care of. I am not used yet, I know the woman who was deceived. But, an article in a local newspaper (Belle Ville News Democrat - Sunday 14th October 2007 edition) brought me great concern for them. How can someone avoid in this position that this bruised? No, it is not black. She lives in a small town called Marissa, the population of people over $ 2,000 mostly white.

I will be working a a temp about 200 miles from my home. My company will provide a per diem of 80 dollars per day. Can I deduct other expensives such as mileage from my tax home to my temp home and any other deductions.
My consulting business did well enough this year that I had a bit of money due to the IRS. I planned on setting up an IRA this year since I’m in my mid-twenties. I like the tax-free potential of the Roth, but I also need to lower my AGI this year. Would it make sense to open and contribute a portion of my wages to a traditional account and deduct what I need to break even on taxes, and throw the rest into a Roth account? Not exceeding the ,000 limit on contributions of course… The fees on the accounts should be negligable, considering that I’m working primarily with an Internet broker.
25% is my current tax bracket.
I have a small part time photography business. Last year I had ,000 deposited into a business account to start my own business. I purchased some very expensive equipment. during 2006. However I did no paid work. On last years return I stated no income and no deductions for my sole proprietor portion of the return. This year things seem a little more favorable. I actually have a booking for a job and my business is now fully liscensed. How do i factor in my expensive purchases from a prior year? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you
Sorry i meant i filed no deductions/income for the year 2005
Churches, homeless shelters, animal shelters, inner city reading programs, hospitals like St. Jude children’s; all depend on charitable contributions that may dramatically decrease if the tax break is gone. It appears Government control and dependence is the goal.
That will be a result, so why is Obama doing this in his budget?
I am looking for anything that I can deduct as an expense for my IT career or education toward my career. ie can I claim books on IT, a new computer system, certification expenses, any technology so that i may keep up to date, etc.
I tried looking on IRS.gov but came up with nothing. (Their site is enormous and confusing) Is there a reference I can go by other than buying software from HR Block or Inuit (Turbo Tax)?
My husband is a software trainer for a major computer company. He wouldn’t be knowledgeable enough in his job if he didn’t own and use a computer and that software.
I’m a professional musician, so therefore I need to own a piano in order to practice on if I expect to perform my job.
Therefore, are the computer and piano related expenses tax deductible as non-reimbursed work expenses, or something of the like?
